PERSONAL DATA POLICY



BACKGROUND & PURPOSE

We issue this NOTICE pursuant to the enforcement of Personal Data Protection Act 2010 which came into effect on 15th November 2013 which we have developed as our Personal Data Policy.

WHAT PERSONAL DATA DO WE COLLECT

By engaging us to act as your solicitor, we may collect your Personal Data, which is subject to applicable data protection, privacy and other similar laws and may include but not limited to information concerning your name, date of birth, gender and race, nationality, identity card number, passport, contact details including your postal address, email address, personal number and telephone number, bank account and credit card identity, salary range, compensation currently and historically, your contact preference, information to verify your identity, work history, any other details of past employers or other people you provided to us, if you apply job with us and all other related information necessary and incidental to our business.

HOW DO WE COLLECT YOUR PERSONAL DATA

We may collect your Personal Data from you and/or from any necessary third parties in possession of your Personal Data by means:

of documents provided to us by whatsoever means of communication whether such documents be original copies, photocopied, certified true copy or not, scanned copies, etc.;

during conversation between you and our representatives;

through your access and use of our website.

PURPOSE OF COLLECTION YOUR PERSONAL DATA

We collect, use, processed and disclose your Personal Data for the following purposes;

These may include the disclosure to any third party (whether in Malaysia or Overseas);

To enable us to send you information via postal mail, e-mail, telephone calls, sms messages or social chat applications or internet social media pertaining to our products and services offered by us and/or selected third parties that in our view may interest you but doing so we maintain control over your Personal Data and we will not disclose your Personal Data to any third parties without your prior written consent.

THE SECURITY PRINCIPLE AND THE DISCLOSURE OF YOUR PERSONAL DATA

We shall keep and process your Personal Data in secure manner. We endeavor, where practicable, to implement the appropriate administrative and security safeguards and procedures in line with the applicable laws and regulations to prevent the unlawful processing of Personal Data and accidental loss or destruction of, or damage to such Personal Data. In meeting with our provision of services, we may disclose your Personal Data to the relevant entities which may include:

Any relevant third party such as agents (whether in Malaysia or Overseas), other legal firms and intellectual property agents (whether in Malaysia or Overseas), property developers, property managers, management corporations, contractor, sub-contractor and etc. ;

RIGHTS OF ACCESS AND CORRECTION

You have the right to obtain a copy of any Personal Data which we hold about you. You also have a right to:

Request the correction and/or advise us of any inaccuracy, misleading, out-of-date or incomplete upon validation and verification of the new information given to us in person at our corporate office located at the address given below.

Communicate to us your objection to the use of your Personal Data for marketing purposes whereupon we will not use your Personal Data for these purposes in person at our office located at the address given below.

Explain or specify its policies and procedures in relation to data and types of Personal Data handled by us;

Withdraw, in full or in part, your consent given previously, in each case subject to any applicable legal restrictions, contractual conditions and a reasonable time period in person at our corporate office located address given below.

EFFECT OF NON-DISCLOSURE OF PERSONAL DATA

It is necessary for us to collect and process your Personal Data to enable us successfully commence, conduct and conclude your legal matters/transactions where you have retained us as your solicitors. The effect for you if you fail to punctually and accurately supply your Personal Data as and required by us may include but are not limited to:-

You suffering losses and damages, incurring additional legal costs and/or becoming liable to pay default interest, etc;

You becoming liable to third parties for losses, damages, additional legal costs and/or default interest, etc. suffered by them;

The complete or partial failure of your legal matters/transaction, etc.
